The recipe for a fresher face

In this post – and in this video – I talk about how we are all hoping to make our faces look fresher – but what if you don’t know what’s out there or where to start?

Putting together a treatment plan

How do you put tweakments together into a treatment plan?

It very much depends on what it is that is bothering you about your face, and what concerns you would like to tackle. But if you ask a practitioner for the elements they would consider working on, the list goes something like this.

The ingredients in the recipe

1 – Relax dynamic wrinkles – with injections of Botox or one of the other wrinkle-relaxing toxins

2 – Replace any volume that your face has lost with age – particularly in the cheeks, temples or lips – or indeed along the edges of the jawline — with careful injections of dermal fillers

3 – Clear the complexion and reduce patchy pigmentation – which you could do with a course of skin peels, or with laser treatment, or with IPL (intense pulsed light)

4 – Stimulate collagen regrowth with treatments like microneedling or laser resurfacing

5- Tighten slackening skin with laser, or focussed ultrasound or radiofrequency treatment – all of which make the existing collagen shrink a bit, and also create new collagen deep within the skin, to make the skin firmer

Where do you start?

You don’t have to do it all at once. But an experienced practitioner will help you work out what tweakments will be of greatest benefit for you, and plan out a course of treatment for you.
