Hello, I have a small compound nevus on the lateral rim of my left alar. It’s an aesthetic concern and I’ve been advised that the best way of removing it was to have it shaved off. I was wondering if this is the only option, or if there are other procedures which could flatten the mole and improve things aesthetically? I saw a doctor for an expensive consultation and they said that there was a 50% chance of inversion, which is obviously terrible odds. I’d really like to get this procedure done but feel like I can’t find the right specialist who can assure me the results will be ok.

Hi, you could ask another opinion of a dermatologist or doctor who treats a lot of moles? If you are in London, Dr Ariel Haus,  Dr Ross Perry and Dr Natalia Spierings do a lot of this.
