Buccal fat removal is getting a lot of airtime just now and for the right candidate –someone a bit older, with a heavy lower face – it’s a great procedure. But for most of us, deliberately removing that little chunk of fat from inside our cheeks is not a great strategy. If you’re younger, with a solid sort of face, yes it will give you amazing cheekbones but as you age and the fat pads in the face flatten and slide south, your face may start to look a bit gaunt sooner than it should. If you’re set on trying it, look for a really good surgeon like one of the BAAPS.
