I’m a home-based professional skin therapist seriously considering investing in LED. 1) Keen on understanding the difference between Dermalux Flex and the salon version. 2) I understand the main difference is power – but number of lights in each colour? 3) The flexibility is appealing especially when space is a premium. Can you lie on the lights? 4) I thought near IR could be damaging to eyes as it penetrates quite deeply – not sure if black eye covers are sufficient? I’m sure all relevant precautions have been taken, but I have a FAR IR sauna as well as LED red, blue and IR on neoprene (so can bend around body) – I have always been advised to be v careful near eyes. 5) Is training available online? I’ve previously bought equipment from Bio-Therapeutics that has its own bt-accent LED (552 red, blue and mixed). I’m finding it difficult to make informed comparisons.

Hiya, TTG editor Georgia here. You’d be best off getting in touch with Dermalux’s manufacturer directly and asking them all of these questions. The company is called Aesthetic Technology Limited and there’s a contact form on their site. You could also look at the Celluma range of medically-certified LED products, the company can advise on what would suit your needs best, and then you can make a comparison.
