I’m asking this on behalf of my Mum. She recently had toxins and Profhilo and experienced severe bruising and her lip dropped significantly within 48 hours. It’s been 6 weeks. What should she do, who do we complain to?
Hi Robert I’m so sorry to hear this. Your poor mum. Bruising is always a risk with any treatments where a needle is used and some people do just bruise worse than others (so bad bruising isn’t always of an injector’s competence/ incompetence – but it’s not good).
But re her lip dropping – did she have toxins around her mouth? It’s not the first place that most people have injected. If the lip has dropped it sounds either like overtreatment with toxin, or could a needle have nicked a nerve in the area? The first people to complain to are the practitioner who did the treatment, and the clinic who employs them – ideally you would have gone back to them immediately with photos and complaints, to see what they suggest about what may have happened, but you say it has already been six weeks. If you have photos of the results, you should go back to them anyway, to point out how unhappy and distressed your mum is with the results. If it’s over-treatment with toxins, your mum will have to wait for the effects to wear off, which they will do in time.
