Ow, poor you, this sounds like a sudden flare-up of rosacea (which used to be known as acne rosacea – the bumps are a part of it). To start with, you’ll want some very calming skincare (e.g. the Rosaliac range from La Roche Posay) plus sunscreen during the day. Take a look at my factsheet on managing rosacea here. Treatment with IPL (intense pulsed light) can reduce the redness in your skin – find a good aesthetic practitioner near you on our practitioner finder. If you can get to see a dermatologist for prescription products to help manage the rosacea, even better.
