What is a mini facelift?
A mini facelift generally focuses on the lower face as opposed to the whole face. It’s usually preferable for those in their 40s or 50s who have less extreme signs of ageing as results are subtler – though still impactful – than a full, traditional facelift.
Definitions of what a ‘mini-facelift’ is vary – so check carefully to see what the surgeon who does it is actually offering.
It might be something like a ‘one-stitch’ facelift that just tightens the cheeks back towards the ears enough to make a difference. Or you could be looking at considerable lifting and tightening though, specifically of the jawline, chin and upper neck, but with fewer incisions that are well hidden. Even though a mini facelift is far less invasive than a full facelift, it’s still a surgical procedure that carries risk, downtime and a large cost. Careful consideration and consultation with an expert surgeon is a must.
