What is your opinion of The Ordinary skincare range? It seems to list the ingredients well and are far more reasonably priced than other brands. Is it too good to be true?
Hiya, TTG editor Georgia here. Not too good to be true – beauty editors and many aesthetic practitioners alike genuinely rate the brand as an entry level introduction to key ingredients but I personally don’t think the packaging/ marketing makes it particularly clear what you need and how to use it. The products contain often high levels of potent ingredients so without direction for appropriate use you could end up sensitising your skin. Also, any skincare formulator will tell you that ingredients work better when worked into in a carefully crafted formulation so these products are an interesting place to start but don’t offer the same results as more complex ‘cosmeceutical’ products.
