Why do I have loads of energy then the next few weeks I am shattered? I am 60 this year and take HRT – what’s wrong with me?
Hiya, TTG editor Georgia here. Alice and I aren’t medical professionals, but we think the first thing you should do is see your GP to get your blood tested in case you’re lacking in one or more of the important energy-giving vitamins and minerals – things like vitamins D, B12, and iron. You could also ask your GP to make sure your HRT is at the right level, and check that everything else in the body that affects our energy levels is working properly. There are also lifestyle elements of course, like eating well, moving your body regularly in a way you enjoy, getting enough sleep and managing stress.
