Soothing treat: Aysse face mask

What is it? A French skincare range based on the beauty benefits of Champagne. Yes, really.

What’s the USP? Minerals, vitamins and antioxidants found in Champagne – help improve the skin. And no, it’s not a spoof, and the University of Reims is conducting a study into the efficacy of Champagne in skincare, to add weight to the frothy concept.

Hero product? Probably the Instant Radiance Serum (£75), though the spray-on body moisturiser, called Eau de Creme (£46) sounds a cracker, too.

How new is it? Launched in the UK this week, and available through feelunique.com.

I’d try… The Mask Tendre, above (£42). It’s a very nice and not-too-thick cream which soaks in comfortingly. I would use it in the evening and simply leave it on overnight, massaging in any that hasn’t absorbed before you hit the pillow.
