Looking for a treatment for a jowly chin and sagging skin that doesn’t involve a full, invasive facelift? ‘JawTite’ is the signature treatment of Dr Saleena Zimri, which helps you bid goodbye to jowls and hello to a much more sculpted jawline without prolonged downtime. Julie*, 47, who was particularly conscious about small pockets of fat around her jaw went to see Dr Saleena at The Skin Doctor Clinic to try it out. Below, she shares her full treatment experience with us and her brilliant before-and-after photographs.
What is JawTite?
JawTite is Dr Saleena Zimri’s signature (and trademarked) treatment for tightening, lifting, and sculpting your jawline. Plus, it melts away excess fat – all without the need for surgery.
The treatment was born out of Dr Saleena’s success with Inmode’s FaceTite technology, which uses minimally invasive radiofrequency energy to trigger collagen production and skin tightening. When FaceTite was initially launched, Dr Zimri found the procedure also helped to tackle fatty troublespots. So, she combined the benefits of FaceTite with micro-liposuction – the use of hydro-dissection and lessening of fat using water – to develop JawTite’s specific protocol for jowls and double chins.
What is the treatment best for?
“JawTite is great for areas where you cannot use liposuction, such as jowls and nasolabial lines, as you can improve the quality and tightness of the skin and the result is an enviable neck and jawline,” reveals Dr Saleena. “It’s popular with celebrities and my patient base, and I have been obtaining incredible results for this combination treatment.”
The treatment is actually so popular that Dr Saleena has dedicated a full day a week to performing JawTite procedures for a waiting list of clients in her Leeds and London clinics.
Why did Julie* want JawTite?
“I was interested in JawTite because I saw someone who had had it done and it looked amazing,” explains Julie. “It’s an area you can get a bit self-conscious about as you get older. I’m 47 and I feel in my family that the jawline is a weaker area.
“I had seen Dr Saleena for Plinest (polynucleotides) before and I knew she was incredible. She’s matter-of-fact but in a very reassuring way so I felt safe to mention my jaw to her,” Julie continues. “I’d had a tiny bit of filler along my jaw ages ago but wanted to see if there was more that could be done. I’m not saying I would never go under the knife, but I really liked that JawTite was only semi-surgical.”
What was the treatment experience like?
JawTite is referred to as ‘semi-surgical’, meaning it does require an incision but it’s ‘tiny’, according to Julie, so there’s no significant scarring like with a facelift. Plus, you only need one treatment.
The small entry point is made to allow the fine probe to be inserted beneath your skin, and it is this probe that delivers the skin-firming controlled heat energy. Best of all, “it didn’t hurt at all,” says Julie. “I was numbed up so I felt a bit of tugging but that was it – no pain. Weirdly, I didn’t get one single bruise either.”
What were the results like and how quickly can you achieve them?
As Julie’s after photographs show, she’s had a lovely change in her lower face by Dr Saleena targeting tiny pockets of fat to give her a more defined, sculpted jawline. You can expect those results within six weeks, with the best results developing over six months.
The results are also incredibly natural: “No one has said, ‘Did you have something done’ – and that’s really important because you don’t want to look different, just like yourself but better,” says Julie. “That’s achieved with JawTite because you’re not filling the area (as with dermal filler). You are just sculpting to your bone structure.”
At the same time, “I feel it looks even better now than when the pictures were taken a few weeks ago,” continues Julie – and that’s not just a patient’s eyes deceiving her.
“The results will go on improving for the next six to nine months,” confirms Dr Saleena. “It’s partly due to the new collagen being produced in the skin which makes it firmer, but also the ‘microswelling’ decreasing. Microswelling is the kind of swelling that’s not really visible to the naked eye but which takes a few months to settle after a procedure.”
What is the aftercare advice?
“The main piece of aftercare advice is to just leave your chin area alone!” says Julie. “You have to wear a supportive headband that goes under your chin for six days, too – which can be a little funny to wear especially when out in public but I hid it by wearing a headscarf. I also found that my face felt a little weird and a bit numb for the first week, and one part has stayed numb for a couple of months.”
How does JawTite compare to other procedures?
JawTite is semi-surgical, so it is less invasive than going under the knife, and it requires local – but not general – anaesthetic. As Julie mentions, you do need to wear a chin strap for a little while, but otherwise, downtime is minimal, and unlike under-chin liposuction – where the skin is not tightened, so can look floppy – the treatment can also improve skin quality post-procedure.
That’s why Dr Saleena says that JawTite is so popular with people in the public eye as it is subtle and not as obvious as a face or neck lift. Plus, it has lower risks, downtime, and price tag.
JawTite costs from £3,995.
