At the double: Prototype capsules and cream are designed to work together

What is it? A skincare-and-skin-supplement double act for inside-out approach.

What’s the USP? Harnessing the power of resveratrol, a high-strength antioxidant (the one you find in wine) and moisturising hyaluronic acid, to promote healthy skin and reduce wrinkles – by applying these ingredients to the skin in a cream, and eating them, in the form of pills.

Hero product? The two go hand in hand – the Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Age Cream (£39.49) and the Prototype Capsules (£29.59 for 60), from

How new is it? Launched in the UK this spring.

I’d try…? T
he face cream. Ok, it won’t win any prizes for design or presentation, but it sinks in nicely and feels nourishing while leaving the skin smooth and matte, and although it’s not obvious, it offers an SPF of 20, plus UVA protection. The pills? If you want. I’m really interested in the whole move towards tackling skincare from the inside as well as from the outside, but these don’t yet have clinical studies to back up their claims, though the ingredients are good and certainly won’t do you any harm.
