I sat down with Lorraine Perretta, Head of Nutrition and Dr Gaby Prinsloo, Medical Director at Advanced Nutrition Programme™ to find out all about their supplement, Skin Youth Biome™. You can find our more by watching the video above or reading the transcription of our conversation below.
Alice Hart-Davis: So, Lorraine, what is this supplement and how is it going to help us?
Lorraine Perretta: Skin Youth Biome™ is a next-generation of biome product that is going to focus on the different signs of ageing for skin by helping our gut be happier and healthier.
AHD: Advanced Nutrition Programme™, can you tell me a little bit about what the brand is?
LP: Advanced Nutrition Programme™ was founded in 2006. It’s a UK-based company and it approaches skin in a 21st-century way. We are a group of passionate people about skin and we know that the skin is the largest organ in the body and a two-sided organ. And people who just focus on topical creams and serums are only doing 50% of the job by feeding the skin from within you can achieve 100% skin care.
Dr Gaby Prinsloo: In our skin health research centre, we have state-of-the-art equipment, which allows us to measure all of the parameters of the skin clinically with instruments. And we also take very high-quality images. So, we’re able to then compare before taking this product, or the supplement, to afterwards to see the benefits.
AHD: So this isn’t the kind of the studies where people say 70% of women felt their skin looked better. This is actual factual, highly measured results.
GP: Correct. So, we do use our trials, which is someone’s opinion, but we actually get people to come into the lab, where we measure their skin with instruments. We were specifically looking for seven signs of ageing. So, we were looking for fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, dryness, thin skin, elasticity and skin tone.
AHD: Okay. And you got some extraordinary results in the elasticity, didn’t you? Could you tell me about that?
GP: We did. We found statistically significant improvements in elasticity. If we took 100 people, 99 to 99.9 of them would’ve had an improvement in elasticity.
AHD: Wow and yet the results could be quite individual as to who got an improvement with different things. I wanted to ask you Lorraine about why it is that improving the gut showed up in different ways in different people’s faces?
LP: The, most interesting results was the personalisation of the product I call it. Because some people had results in three of the different parameters. Others had them four different parameters and they were different combinations for different people. And when the body is enhanced with this type of bioproduct, when the digestion is healthier, the body chooses how to express it in the skin and personalises it to your need.
We found statistically significant improvements in elasticity. If we took 100 people, 99 to 99.9 of them would’ve had an improvement in elasticity
AHD: So, you can be sure that people’s skin will be better in some way, though quite how will depend on them. So, what makes us different from other biome supplements?
GP: What makes this so special is that we have used the latest research in gut health, probiotics, and post-biotics to choose the best supplements for the most effective results.
AHD: So, Lorraine who should be taking this product, who would benefit from it?
LP: Well, all our products are designed for adults, and everyone would benefit. For me, it’s the first product people should be taking from our range.
AHD: And looking at those results and what it’s given to people, I think we’re all going to be wanting to take it now!
