TTG x Healthista – new series

Dr Tracy Mountford and Alice Hart-Davis at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic in Devonshire Place, London

I’m delighted to be starting a new collaboration with Healthista, the health channel for women, talking about tweakments and interviewing top doctors and surgeons about which procedures do what.

The first interview is with Dr Tracy Mountford (pictured above) of The Cosmetic Skin Clinic, whom I have known and worked with for many years (and when I say ‘worked with’, a fair amount of that work has involved her and her staff tweaking my face with fillers, toxins and the odd laser).

So what are tweakments?

If you aren’t quite sure about what tweakments are – they are minor cosmetic medical procedures which are non-surgical and minimally invasive, and which can be used to enhance your face, and also your body. I’m talking about treatments including dermal fillers, Botox, skin peels and lasers.

How I’ve learned about tweakments

As a journalist, I have been reporting on the world of tweakments for nearly 20 years, from way back before Botox was even approved for cosmetic use by the American FDA (yet the doctors in London were already happily experimenting with it, ‘off label’ to see how it could soften wrinkles and relax frown lines). Before long, I began trying out these tweakments, too, to see what they could do for my face. Over the years, I have interviewed countless doctors, cosmetic surgeons, aesthetic nurses and dermatologists who perform these procedures, and have spent time with the brands that make the products and the devices used in these tweakments. Over time, I have learned which procedures do what, how they work, which ones hurt the most, and which ones give consistently good results.

I have also written a whole book about tweakments, which you’ll know if you’re a regular visitor to this site.

What is the Healthista Transformation Special?

I’ve asked some of the best cosmetic doctors and surgeons from around the UK to talk to me about the procedures that they rely on to give great results. With each video, there are pictures of a case study – a person who has tried the treatment and was delighted with the results – to give you an idea of what these tweakments can do.

So, what exactly is fat freezing, and how does it work? Is it permanent? What sort of results can be achieved? Here’s the video.
