Restylane Skinboosters

Written by: Becki Murray

Last Updated: 24 March 2025

Restylane Skinboosters are injectable moisturisers that boost elasticity and improve skin texture and roughness.

The Skinboosters work by replenishing the levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin, which deplete as part of the natural ageing process. By increasing moisture levels in the skin, the product also helps with the formation of new collagen and elastin.

About Restylane Skinboosters

Why might you be interested in Restylane Skinboosters?

From sun exposure and pollution to lifestyle choices such as smoking and high stress levels, there’s a lot of things that can fade your natural glow. Restylane Skinboosters provide a long-lasting solution (without you needing to bathe yourself in highlighter).

Designed to quickly revive dull and tired-looking skin, by replenishing your skin’s natural hyaluronic acid content, they provide a burst of hydration to your complexion, which reduces the appearance of fine lines, pores, and pigmentation too.

Why are Restylane Skinboosters exciting?

Having been used in more than eight million treatments globally, Restylane Skinboosters are clinically proven to help you on your journey to smoother, more evenly-toned, glowing skin. They are also fast-acting with an immediate and long-lasting hydrating effect.

How do Restylane Skinboosters work?

Restylane Skinboosters are injectables made up of HA. Specifically, the boosters use close-to-natural, stabilised hyaluronic acid to infuse a thin layer of micro droplets of HA beneath the skin surface, where it draws water into your skin and provides long-term deep hydration.

What is does a treatment involve?

Your practitioner will start by disinfecting the area that will be treated. They will then use a fine needle to inject the tiny droplets of hyaluronic acid just below your skin’s surface.

What can Restylane Skinboosters treat?

Restylane Skinboosters are clinically proven to tackle six main areas that affect skin quality – aka what makes your skin look a little ‘off’ and tired. They do so by:

  • Boosting hydration: for fresher and even skin that ‘glows’ from within
  • Reducing pore appearance: for smoother-looking skin
  • Reducing roughness: for a smooth, light-reflecting skin texture
  • Evening skin tone: by reducing pigmentation and age spots
  • Reducing fine line appearance: by improving skin elasticity and hydration
  • Reducing acne scarring

How long do the results last?

Your results can last for up to 12 months, which is a relatively long time compared to other tweaks.

Is a Restylane Skinboosters treatment painful?

As with most injectable tweaks, the injections can be a little uncomfortable but shouldn’t be unbearable, especially as the product contains the numbing ingredient, lidocaine. You also may notice some slight redness, swelling, itching or tenderness at the injection sites post-treatment but this shouldn’t last long.

Where can Restylane Skinboosters be used?

There’s lots of uses for these injectable moisturisers. They can be used on the full face including the cheeks, chin, forehead, temples, and around the mouth and eyes.

They can also be used to improve skin quality on the neck, hands and décolletage.

How long does the treatment take?

You can be in and out of the treatment chair in about 15 minutes (not factoring in consultation time) as the injections are very quick, but depending on the number of areas you would like to focus on, we’d recommend factoring in up to 45 minutes for your treatment.

How quickly can you see results?

Restylane Skinboosters are known for their fast-acting effect – which results visible after your first treatment once any slight swelling has calmed down. However, you will probably need up to three treatments for the best results, which will be spaced 4 weeks apart.

After this initial series of treatments, its recommended you have a ‘booster’ treatment every six to 12 months depending on your individual needs too.

How much does a Restylane Skinboosters treatment cost?

You can expect to pay around £330 per treatment (so about £1000 in total for your three sessions). However, this will also depend on the location and practitioner you choose.

Are there side effects and aftercare advice for Restylane Skinboosters?

Side effects tend to be mild, with some initial slight redness, swelling, or tenderness generally getting better within a few days.

You should also  avoid exposing the treated area to extreme heat, such as sunbathing, saunas, or steam, for a few days. But, if you experience other side effects, contact your practitioner for advice.

Who are Restylane Skinboosters not suitable for?

  • Patients with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid based products
  • Patients with bleeding disorders, or active skin disease such as inflammation, infection or tumors in or near the area to be treated.
  • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Patients with deeper wrinkles and folds may be better suited to another treatment
  • Patients under 18 years of age are not recommended for treatment

Consult your practitioner for advice about further contraindications.
