Kshem Yapa is a London based consultant plastic surgeon specializing in facelift surgery as well as other facial procedures such as eyelid blepharoplasty ,neck lift surgery , brow lift surgery and facial fat transfer which are often performed together with facelift surgery. He also performs rhinoplasty procedures.

He specializes in deep plane facelift techniques such as preservation facelift techniques which minimize trauma to the skin and deliver natural looking and long lasting results. His approach is to use the latest techniques to deliver natural looking result and avoid an “operated look” .

The decision to have a facelift and at any age is a very personal one and it is important to be fully informed when making that decision. He is known for offering very personalized and tailored care with a small team of nurses and anaesthetists that he trusts. The after care is just as important as the surgery itself and so there is 24 hr access to his team and he recommends therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen led red light therapy and manual lymphatic drainage to aid recovery.

Mr Yapa prides himself on driving innovation and excellence within plastic surgery, having published over 30 peer-review articles . After his medical studies at Cambridge University and during his plastic surgery training he conducted a PhD at Stanford University in California and Kings College London where he specialised in the study of stem cells in fat , the research of scarless healing and the development of the face. He often uses modest fat transfer to augment natural results from facelift surgery and has recognition from both Tatler and Country and Townhouse magazines for this and features in their cosmetic guides.

After speaking to multiple surgeons, I was immediately sure I wanted Mr Yapa to perform my surgery. He took a lot of time to understand exactly what I wanted, he explained everything very clearly, and he made me feel so comfortable and reassured that I went into the surgery with almost no nerves. Looking back I can’t believe how laid back I felt as I walked into the operating room and lay down! I was definitely more excited than nervous. Pictures are 3 months post-op, but majority of the visible swelling was gone after 2-3 weeks.
My procedure was a septo-rhinoplasty. This was to remove the bump on the bridge of my nose, to reduce the bulbous tip, and to even-out the slight asymmetry of my nostrils. The ‘septo’ part was to straighten my nose.
Post-op, the swelling and bruising was very minimal, which is surprising given all the different parts to my surgery! This was down to the surgical techniques Mr Yapa uses, specifically designed to reduce the impact of the surgery and improve recovery.
