Dr Rachna Murthy
Dr Rachna Murthy is a multi-award-winning consultant oculoplastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon. She co-founded FaceRestoration, alongside Prof Jonathan Roos to offer a holistic approach for patients. Internationally recognised with more than half a century of combined medical experience and 35 years of combined NHS clinical service, the duo has partnered to give a unique male and female perspective. Procedures are delivered with a dual assessment, low complication rates, maximum safety and complete confidentiality. As leading voices in both ocular and aesthetic medicine, they are widely published and highly accredited and have educated many eminent doctors in the field, domestically and internationally. Dr Rachna was recently shortlisted as a finalist in the category of Consultant Surgeon of the Year at the Aesthetics Awards.
Dr Rachna Murthy is internationally recognised as a key opinion leader in the fields of aesthetics, periocular cancer and thyroid eye disease and enjoys faculty status at numerous meetings around the world. She has led quaternary services at Cambridge University Hospitals for thyroid eye disease and oculoplastic care in the East of England.
Recently shortlisted as a finalist in the category of Consultant Surgeon of the Year at the Aesthetics Awards, Dr Rachna is an experienced surgical trainer, not just in the NHS and for the Royal College of Ophthalmologist, but also in the private sector. Her technical skills and her academic and safety work with dermal fillers have also led to her appointment as an Allergan Medical Institute faculty member.
As the lead periocular skin cancer clinician for Ipswich for the last decade, she has also helped pioneer innovative surgical approaches resulting in reduced patient attendance and cancer recurrence with improved cosmetic outcomes.
She is a full member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society, the European Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the International Associate member of the American Society of Oculoplastic Surgery. She sits on the council of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Ophthalmology section. Her publications have won international prizes and are widely quoted. Before becoming a consultant, she did her post-residency fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Craniofacial Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, and the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital Melbourne, Australia.
She practices at FaceRestoration in Harley Street together with Prof Jonathan Roos, providing a unique, diverse approach with built-in expert second opinion and care.
Together, they have developed the Scars-LessTM approach to surgery and patented a novel antimicrobial agent – Purifeyes (purifeyes.co.uk) – designed to improve safety for aesthetics and general daily exposure.
