Kelly Richards is the founder and clinical lead of Skin Aesthetics UK, a clinic shaped by her belief that aesthetic medicine should be driven by safety, integrity, and truly personalised patient care. With over a decade of nursing experience and a specialist background in anaesthetics, Kelly brings a level of clinical precision that sets her apart within the industry. Her medical journey began at Bangor University, where she qualified as a Registered Nurse, followed by specialist anaesthetic training at Stoke University. She later advanced her clinical authority by becoming an Independent Nurse Prescriber through Salford University.

Kelly has undertaken extensive advanced training in injectables, skin science, and medical device technologies, ensuring her practice remains at the forefront of aesthetic innovation. Her dedication to clinical excellence has earned her recognition on a global stage, and she is proud to be an international award-winning aesthetic practitioner, celebrated for her exceptional standards, natural results, and commitment to patient safety.

Beyond her clinical work, Kelly serves as the Regional Lead for North Wales within the Nurses Network, a role in which she supports, mentors, and advocates for practitioners across the region. I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma cancer in December 2022. I had biopsy surgery followed by a wide local excision to remove the primary tumour in February 2023. This was in my thigh. I also had positive lymph nodes in my groin which were removed too. In my cancer ‘journey’ I have now had eight surgeries – which is a lot of scars.

My daughter saw the amazing offer for FREE scar treatment and encouraged me to contact the clinic. Although I see my scars as signs of strength, resilience and survival, the salon was offering the chance to make them look and feel better.

From initial contact with Kelly, to meeting my therapist Jemma, I have been made to feel totally at ease and have enjoyed my visits there. Jemma examined my scars and came up with a plan to improve them. We decided to work on two of my scars. Jemma gave me a course of micro-needling and light therapy.

My thigh scar is now softer and more pliable, the little stitch bumps have flattened out and there is no redness. The one on my collar has reduced massively in colour, really flattened out and is softer. Previously it would catch on my jumper at times but nothing at all now.

If anyone is thinking of having this treatment I would 💯 recommend it. The micro-needles have a range of power so can be turned up/down to suit you, but even over my collar bone it was totally bearable. The light treatment was lovely, very relaxing – so much so I’d have a nap!

This treatment has significantly improved both the physical and emotional impact of my scars. I can’t thank Jemma enough.
