Miss Lubna Khan-Salim
Miss Lubna Khan-Salim, MBBS, BSc (Hons), MRCS, is the founder and Clinical Director of Time to Bloom, a beauty and wellness clinic in North Yorkshire. As a former NHS surgeon with extensive plastic surgical training in London and the north, Lubna believes that due to the ever-increasing pressure to look perfect from social media, we’re becoming unforgiving of our looks.
Time to Bloom is about redressing the balance. Lubna saw the need for an approachable, friendly, and ethical space in which to explore aesthetic non-surgical treatments and created Time to Bloom as a safe haven. She is passionate about maintaining a natural appearance, and goes to great lengths to customise every treatment- it’s not about seeking ideal beauty, it’s about seeking YOUR ideal beauty.
A place for you to be you, and to love the skin you’re in. Time to Bloom is a boutique skin clinic with your wellbeing at the heart of every facial procedure and aesthetic treatment we offer. Most people believe beauty is just about the way you look, at Time to Bloom they believe passionately it’s about the way you feel- they want you to feel and look like you- only better! Real beauty is a delicate ecosystem reliant on how we feel inside and out, they help people reconnect with their skin through expert skincare, health, and wellness treatments.
Miss Lubna Khan-Salim is the founder and Clinical Director of Time to Bloom, a beauty and wellness clinic in North Yorkshire. As a former NHS surgeon with extensive plastic surgical training in London and the north, Lubna believes that due to the ever-increasing pressure to look perfect from social media, in a world where we’re increasingly focused on the way we look, and our own exacting high standards, we’re becoming unforgiving of ourselves and what makes us unique, women and girls are in the grip of an endless cycle of being made to feel imperfect. While the aesthetic industry isn’t new, the availability of treatments, price point, and the relentlessness of social media has given women across the world a distorted idea of what’s both real and attainable in facial beauty.
Time to Bloom is about redressing the balance and celebrating womankind in every form. And kindness is at the heart of everything we do. They have a triple bottom line policy placing people and the planet before profit. As a doctor but more so as a woman and a new mum, Lubna has come to appreciate that the way we look is very much more a psychological space than simply about vanity. The impact the way we look has on our sense of well-being is grossly underestimated. Lubna saw the need for an approachable, friendly, and ethical space in which to explore aesthetic non-surgical treatments and created Time to Bloom to be a safe haven. ‘One of the things I’m passionate about is maintaining a natural appearance, and less is definitely more,’ says Lubna. ‘I go to great lengths to customise and individualise every treatment- it’s not about seeking ideal beauty, it’s about seeking YOUR ideal beauty.’
‘I am deeply honoured to be redefining what beauty is about for so many- we shine a light on real beauty and promote skin, age, and body positivity. Beauty is more than about what you look like, it’s about the way you feel. And at Time to Bloom we want you to feel as great as you look. We’re here to say f**k that to perfection and marketing terms that make you feel ‘less-than’. We celebrate your uniqueness; your strengths and champion your journey into doing whatever makes you feel good. The only labels we care about are the ingredients listed on our skincare…everything else is just noise.’
As a boutique clinic, Time to Bloom acts as a concierge for your skincare and curates a bespoke personalised plan that suits your own individual needs in a welcoming, calm environment. They have an online ‘wellbeing’ shop with a curated range of well-being products to help create self-care rituals and a little taste of Bloom in the comfort of your own. Our holistic approach goes beyond simply offering injectables- we firmly believe in the good foundations of an effective skincare regime and a healthy lifestyle. They also offer bespoke packages including working with a health coach, nutritionist, personal trainers, yoga instructors, stylists, make-up artists, and life/career coaches to give you the total transformation you may seek.
At Time to Bloom, Lubna and her team believe in thoughtful beauty that does good for you, and the world around you. They are signed up for 1% For the Planet and step by step are eliminating as much plastic waste from our clinic and seeking alternative solutions where possible. Lubna is also committed to becoming a B-Corp Certified Company as believe firmly that business should be a force for good.
