Simon is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with a special interest in oculoplastic surgery.

An oculoplastic surgeon is a specialist in ophthalmology who as received extensive training in procedures involving the eyelids and tear ducts. They have a deep understanding of the intricate anatomy and aesthetic considerations of the eye area.

Simon graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1999 and completed his higher specialist ophthalmology training in Southampton in 2010. Following this he completed a prestigious Fellowship in Oculoplastics at the Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia. Simon was a full time consultant at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth for 11 years. In that role he performed both intraocular and oculoplastic surgery and often collaborated with dermatologists as well as maxilofacial and ENT surgeons in the management and reconstruction of patients with head and neck cancers that involve the eyelids. In 2023 Simon joined Sapphire Eye Care as their first full-time dedicated oculoplastic surgeon. In this role he provides a comprehensive range of eyelid procedures for patients along the South coast and beyond.

Simon is a full member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society (BOPSS) and attends their annual meeting. He also a member of the Wessex Oculoplastic network, a group of oculoplastic consultants in Hampshire and Dorset who meet regularly to share experience and discuss challenging cases.

Simon is a highly skilled oculoplastic surgeon with expertise in delicate surgeries around the eyes. His meticulous approach is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient.
