Once your skin is accustomed to the Medik8 C -Tetra serum, you may want to step up to this, the Intense version of this product, with the same key ingredient, a form of vitamin C which is well-tolerated even by sensitive skin. Why might you want a vitamin C serum?

  • It’s an antioxidant, so it scavenges up unstable free radical molecules that accelerate ageing in the skin
  • It helps your skin to protect itself against sunlight and pollution
  • It encourages the formation of new collagen in the skin
  • It helps brighten the skin by slowing down the rate at which the skin creates new pigment

Please note, this product used to be called Medik8 C-Tetra Intense and has been rebranded. The formulation has not changed.

Description

Once your skin is accustomed to the Medik8 C -Tetra serum, you may want to step up to this, the Intense version of the same product, with the same key ingredient, an oil-soluble form of vitamin C called Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate which is well-tolerated even by sensitive skin.

Why might you want to use a vitamin C serum?

  • It’s an antioxidant, so it scavenges up unstable free radical molecules that accelerate ageing in the skin
  • It helps your skin to protect itself against sunlight and pollution (though not to the extent that you can skip the sunscreen, sorry)
  • It encourages the formation of new collagen in the skin
  • It helps brighten the skin by slowing down the rate at which the skin creates new pigment

Use this in the morning, after cleansing, on clean dry skin. You can use it in the evening as well, if you like. The key thing is to use it, to get the best results.

Key Ingredients: 14% Lipid Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin F, Maracuja Oil and Optimised Red Ginseng

  3. M. Fecht

Love this brand. Great Vit C that’s not too greasy. Absorbs quickly and leaves a lovely glow for the day.

  4. Jumay

  5. Amazon Customer

I’ve been using this for 3 years now and absolutely love it. It feels velvety smooth when you put it on, keeps my skin hydrated and helps to even out my skin tone, without making it greasy

Hi Alice – what are your thoughts on the skincare ranges sold in aesthetic clinics such as Obgai, are they worth the money or can I buy something similar from brands like Medik8, etc.? Thanks.

Yes, they're absolutely worth the money. These brands – we call them clinical, medical-grade or cosmeceutical – have strong and effective products that can only be sold from clinics, so that your practitioner can advise what's best for you and how to use it, and then keep an eye on how you get on with the products, and adjust your regime accordingly. Medik8 actually also falls into this category – though it can be purchased from some skincare retailers, too – but it's a great brand with very effective products that a lot of practitioners like and sell to their patients. We have some Medik8 products on the TTG shop here....

FAQ ABOUT Medik8 C-Tetra Luxe

How do I use Medik8 C Tetra Luxe?

In the morning, apply 4 drops of this vitamin C serum to the face, neck and decolletage after cleansing. Allow to absorb into the skin before following with moisturiser and sunscreen.

How does Medik8 C Tetra Luxe work?

C Tetra Luxe offers intense protection against free radical damage from the environment, using high levels of vitamin C to boost the skin’s natural antioxidant defence levels. Vitamin C is very powerful at preventing signs of ageing and is also effective at brightening the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone. The serum also contains maracuja oil which is rich in vitamin E and linoleic acid and helps skin look firmer smoother, and glowing. Plus, optimised red ginseng works with the vitamin C to restore a radiant, even skin tone.

Can I use Medik8 C Tetra Luxe on sensitive skin?

Sensitive skins would be best off with the ‘beginner’ version of Medik8 C Tetra rather than Tetra Luxe – the original version contains half the amount of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (the type of vitamin C in the serum), and so would be less likely to potentially irritate sensitive skin. Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is a gentler form of vitamin C than others.

How much Vitamin C is in Medik8 C Tetra Luxe?

Medik8 C Tetra Luxe contains 14% lipid-soluble tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (vitamin C).

Who are Medik8?

Medik8 is a British cosmeceutical skincare brand founded in 2004 by cosmetic scientist Elliot Isaacs. The brand is against animal testing and has pledged to ensure that its packaging will be 100% recyclable, reusable or refillable by 2023.
