Medik8 Mutiny Lip Balm

Sorry this product is out of stock. If you want to be notified when product is back in stock please enter your email address below.

This lovely lip balm is more like a gel than a balm. When you put it on it just melts in and leaves your lips feeling really soft – and also makes the lip skin healthier.

It’s called Mutiny because Medik8 were fed up that most lip balms simply provide a slick of mineral-oil to stop moisture escaping from the lips which doesn’t do anything to help restore health and hydration to dry lips. But this does because the formula contains hyaluronic acid (which is hydrating) and squalane (which is a lipid – a type of oil – that’s very similar to sebum, our skin’s natural oil). The hyaluronic acid hydrates the lip and the squalane, along with sea buckthorn oil, holds that moisture in place.

Description

This lovely lip balm is more like a gel than a balm and when you put it on your lips it just melts in and leaves lips feeling really soft – and also makes the lip skin healthier.

  • It’s called Mutiny because the guys at Medik8 were fed up that most lip balms simply provide a slick of mineral-oil to stop moisture escaping from the lips which doesn’t do anything to help restore health and hydration to dry lips.
  • But this does because the formula contains hyaluronic acid (which is hydrating) and squalane (which is a lipid – a type of oil – that’s very similar to sebum, our skin’s natural oil). The hyaluronic acid hydrates the lip and the squalane, along with sea buckthorn oil, holds that moisture in place.

Apply whenever your lips need that extra boost of hydration.

This website has helped me to understand the confusing beauty industry. The products I have bought have genuinely changed my skin for the better. All in all, such a huge pleasure to find independent, tested, rational and clear advice.

Hi Alice – what are your thoughts on the skincare ranges sold in aesthetic clinics such as Obgai, are they worth the money or can I buy something similar from brands like Medik8, etc.? Thanks.

Yes, they're absolutely worth the money. These brands – we call them clinical, medical-grade or cosmeceutical – have strong and effective products that can only be sold from clinics, so that your practitioner can advise what's best for you and how to use it, and then keep an eye on how you get on with the products, and adjust your regime accordingly. Medik8 actually also falls into this category – though it can be purchased from some skincare retailers, too – but it's a great brand with very effective products that a lot of practitioners like and sell to their patients. We have some Medik8 products on the TTG shop here....
