Skincare Supplements

Do skincare supplements work? Yes, absolutely – as long as you pick the right ones. Here are some of my favourite supplements which I know are effective – from clinical studies as well as from my own experience.

Two of them are based on hydrolysed collagen – that’s collagen that has been broken up into fractions recognised by the body as useful, and which stimulate the body’s own collagen production too. For more information on these, head on over to my factsheet about collagen supplements. The other is a high-strength vitamin C supplement that is proven to boost collagen levels, as well as improving skin hydration and elasticity. Take your pick.

Altrient-C Liposomal Vitamin C

This is the form of vitamin C that I trialled for a story for the Times newspaper last year, with such impressive results. I saw improvements in the collagen levels (up 22.8%), hydration (up 30.2%) and elasticity (up 64.3%) in my skin.  There’s a link to the story on my blog, here.
