How to Address sun-damage

When I say ‘sun damage’, I don’t mean sunburn or the peeling skin you see when someone has spent too long on the beach. I mean the unseen changes in your skin cells caused by ultraviolet radiation from the sun, otherwise known as UVA and UVB rays. This happens every time you are in the sun—even if it’s cloudy, even if you’re indoors, even if (gasp!) you are wearing sunscreen. It’s often termed photoageing (or, in academic journals, ‘dermatoheliosis’, though it’s unlikely you’ll come across that word).

What are Tweakments?
Tweakments are non-surgical cosmetic (or ‘aesthetic’) procedures that can rejuvenate the skin and soften lines and wrinkles, improve irregular pigmentation, tighten sagging skin, add back volume to ageing faces and adjust the proportions of facial features. They are mostly temporary. They are not cosmetic surgery. They involve injectable treatments, lasers and chemical skin peels, but no scalpels and no general anaesthesia.

Suggested Tweakments for sun-damage

Below, you’ll find a list of the tweakments on offer in the world of aesthetics. Each one is explained in detail and it’s vital that you read and understand the ins and outs of any procedure you’re considering. Once you have an in-depth comprehension of what’s involved, you’re ready to talk to a practitioner. Use the practitioner finder to find someone well-trained and experienced located near you.
