Why might you be interested in EYELIGHT?
You might be interested in EYELIGHT if the tear-trough area underneath your eyes is suffering from a lack of volume and has developed a groove or sunken area. Having EYELIGHT injections restores volume to your tear trough, filling the groove and decreasing shadows and dark circles under your eyes.
How does a EYELIGHT treatment work?
Before the treatment, you meet with the practitioner so they can examine your facial structure, learn your medical history and your aesthetic goals, and agree a treatment plan with you.
For the treatment, the practitioner cleanses your skin thoroughly, and then injects EYELIGHT into the tear-trough area using either a fine needle or a cannula (a thin, flexible tube). After injecting the filler, the practitioner may massage the area to distribute and shape the filler as needed.
How long do the results last?
EYELIGHT lasts for 6 to 9 months. You can have a re-treatment to extend the results.
Is treatment with EYELIGHT painful?
No. Treatment with EYELIGHT is not painful, but you may experience mild discomfort from the injections, especially because of the delicacy and sensitivity of the tear-trough area. EYELIGHT includes lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to alleviate any discomfort. If you are concerned about the injections hurting, ask your practitioner to numb the treatment areas beforehand – for example, by using a topical anaesthetic cream.
Where can EYELIGHT be used?
EYELIGHT is used to treat the tear trough, the area under your eyes. Practitioners sometimes refer to this area as the ‘periocular area’ – which simply means the ‘area around the eyes’ – and class such treatments as ‘periocular rejuvenation’.
How long does EYELIGHT treatment take?
A treatment with EYELIGHT typically takes between 15 and 45 minutes.
In some cases, you may need a touch-up treatment a couple of weeks after the initial treatment to give you optimum results.
How quickly can you see results from EYELIGHT treatment?
You will see an immediate effect from EYELIGHT treatment, because injecting the filler will add volume to your tear trough. As any swelling from the injections decreases and the filler settles in your face, you will see the results more clearly.
At what age can you get EYELIGHT treatment?
You can get EYELIGHT treatment from the age of 18 in the UK.
How much does a EYELIGHT treatment cost?
The cost of a EYELIGHT treatment varies depending on the amount of filler required and the geographical location in which you’re having the treatment. Typical prices start at around £300.
Will I have scars from EYELIGHT treatment?
No. EYELIGHT is a noninvasive treatment and causes no scars.
Are there side-effects from EYELIGHT treatment?
Treatment with EYELIGHT has no downtime and modest side effects. Most patients can resume their normal activity the same day, so if you have a lunchtime appointment, you could go back to work that afternoon.
You may experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising in the tear-trough area. These side effects will usually disappear within a week; if not, consult your practitioner for advice.
What is the aftercare advice following a EYELIGHT treatment?
After having EYELIGHT injections, avoid pressing or rubbing the treatment areas. This may be difficult, as many of us are used to rubbing our eyes anyway, even without having had filler injected.
If you need to apply concealer to the treatment area, follow these guidelines:
- Give the treatment areas time to settle down rather than applying make-up to them immediately.
- About 24 hours after the treatment, you can apply a light cover-up if needed.
- If you have remaining redness, try a concealer with a slight green or yellow tone. If you have bruising, try a yellow-toned concealer.
Your practitioner may also advise you to avoid vigorous exercise for the first few days after having EYELIGHT injections.

- Pregnancy or breastfeeding. Avoid having dermal fillers while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
