Hi, what a great question — and you’re right, there’s nothing specific on the site about it – perhaps I should add ‘old-lady-chin’ as a new concern as I think we all know what you mean.
Start with some effective skincare (vitamin C serum, retinoids, sunscreen) to help with the surface condition and quality of your skin, and then…
As for tweakments – I’d say my usual thing of getting yourself in front of a great practitioner (lots on the site, here’s the link, you can search by postcode) and discussing it with them. Here are some things they might suggest.
Wrinkle-relaxing injections eg toxins – which I like because they stop the ‘cobblestone’ effect in the chin. And if some of the other muscles around your mouth and chin are working overtime, it can quieten these down, too.
Injections of dermal fillers – because as well as losing fat from our faces as we age, we also lose bone mass, and that affects the whole jawline as well as the chin, so depending on how yours is looking, a touch of filler may well smooth out the line of your chin and make it look less irregular. I find that my chin needs a good deal of rebuilding; I had a lot of filler in it in 2018, and a good deal of fat in it 18 months later, but even with all that (it’s hard to know how much fat is going to ‘take’ in the new area, or how long it will last) I’ve recently had more filler and guess where a lot of work was done? In my chin (and it looks great).
And possibly some radiofrequency microneedling, for overall skin quality and firmness? But find a fab practitioner first, and go from there.
