JO LOVES White Rose & Lemon Leaves

JO LOVES – new fragrance, White Rose & Lemon Leaves

Jo Loves white rose

OMG, I’m in love already with the new fragrance from Jo Loves*. It is called White Rose and Lemon Leaves and it’s simply fabulous. Like all Jo’s creations, it manages to be elegant, simple, fascinating and breathtakingly different all at the same time.

I mean – Rose. Everyone loves rose, and you need a good strong hit of rose in a rose fragrance – but when you have that the brew can easily become too sweet, too heavy, too cloying. But here is a zing of lemon leaves, cutting through and weaving around that sweetness, backed up with a touch of pink pepper and geranium a bit of grounding cedar wood.
Rose and lemon isn’t an obvious pairing (unless you’re talking about Turkish Delight) – but it’s fabulous and smells wildly original to me. I’m usually a bit hesitant about rose fragrances (too obvious, too sweet, etc) but am already addicted to this – thrillingly, the drydown – the smell you are left with once the fragrance has settled, is every bit as delicious and intriguing as the original hit.

White Rose & Lemon Leaves launches on the 1st of March, at Jo Loves, 42 Elizabeth Street, London SW1

PS – you can hear Jo’s favourite castaway song choices on Desert Island Discs this coming Sunday on Radio 4

 * in case you’re not familiar with the name, Jo Loves is the new brand that super-perfumer Jo Malone MBE created nearly four years ago (she sold her original company, Jo Malone, to Estee Lauder in 1999 and left the company a few years later).
